Born in the rugged high-altitude terrain of Costers del Segre, THALARN by Castell d’Encus reimagines Syrah through the lens of alpine viticulture. Planted at an incredible elevation of nearly 1,000 meters in the Pre-Pyrenees, the vines thrive under intense sunlight balanced by cool mountain air, allowing the grape to achieve optimal ripeness without losing its vibrant, natural acidity. Fermented in 12th-century stone rock-lagares carved into the earth, THALARN delivers a peppery, dark-fruited intensity alongside a weightless, mineral freshness that directly challenges the top cool-climate Syrahs of the Northern Rhône. It is a deeply expressive red that captures the tension, elegance, and wild, unpolished terroir of high-altitude Catalunya.
