October Selection
October Selection
For this new selection we have cured a scary selection of bloody and juicy wines that we hope will get you in the mood for the end of the year celebrations.
1) Aymar ICE. A sparkling wine with a twist. It has a touch of Vermouth, which makes it not only fresh, but also a touch bitter and spicy. It's like a Spritz ready to serve. Serve it with some ice and a wedge of orange.
2) 12 Luna Rose. Made from Syrah using the "saignee" method. Saignee means bleeding, which means that the grapes are not pressed. The weight of grapes in the tank gently breaks the grapes, which makes them bleed. The wine is bloody delicius and will likely be a great drink for Halloween given its bright red color.
3) Clos de Lom. A Garnacha Tintorera (or Alicante Bouchet) from Valencia. A young, juicy, fresh wine that is perfect for the fall weather.
4) Los Confines. A Garnacha from the Sierra de Gredos. Vines are located at over 1,000 mts above sea level, which makes them light bodied and fresh. Try it next to the Garnacha Tintorera above and see how different terroirs and how the mutation of a Garnacha differ from one another.
5) Raices Bobal. Also off the coast of Valencia we have a Bobal. Bottled under the appellation of Utiel-Requena at an altitude of over 1,000 mts above sea level. Bobal is the second most planted red varietal in Spain behind Tempranillo. The wine is fresh, light, filled with fruit and a touch of cocoa and tobacco. Great as well for this Fall weather.
6) Workshop Cellars, Zinfandel. This is the wine that made us believe in California. This is big and bold, but shows some restrain and we know this wine will get better with time and each new vintage will be better and better. Final cases before a new vintage arrives.
